DEATH OF AARON V. BURGETT.
Aaron V. Burgett died Tuesday morning about 7 o’clock. Mr. Burgett has been a citizen of Hensley Township during his life time. He was a prominent citizen and took a leading part in the township affairs. As a citizen he was respected and highly esteemed by all. He was a leading church member of Mt. Carmel Christian church during the last 35 years. His father, Valentine Burgett, was one of the first settlers of Nineveh Township, bordering on Hensley, and his son, Aaron grew to manhood amid the early times of his township.
He was an honored member of I.O.O.F. lodge at Trafalgar and the funeral ceremonies were under the auspices of the lodge.

OBITUARY.
After a continued illness of several months, Aaron V. Burgett died at his home south of Trafalgar, Oct. 29, 1900, age 57 years, 11 months and 29 days.
He was married to Lucinda Gillaspy April 16, 1863. To them were born five sons and four daughters. Four sons and three daughters still live to mourn with their mother, this great loss.
As a citizen and neighbor Mr. Burgett so lived that when he was gone he would be greatly missed, for in life he was law abiding, and his hand was guided by a heart of charity.
Brother Burgett was a charter member of the Christian church at Mt. Carmel. As one in the church he was faithful in all good work, serving for several years as a deacon.
As a father Mr. Burgett labored hard on his farm that he might supply his home with abundance and entertain his fellow mankind and educate his children. He ruled his home with kindness.
The entire community joins with the widow and children to weep with them, but our weeping is not as the weeping of them that have no hope. May we all as we think of the many grand and noble deeds of Mr. Burgett, be inspired to live as he lived, ready to be called to our home on high.
The I.O.O.F. had charge of the funeral and laid his body to quietly rest in the burial ground at Lick Spring.

He was male, white, married and a farmer, born in Indiana. His father’s name was Valentine Berget [sic], born in Ohio, and his mother’s maiden name Nancy Keaton, born in Tennessee. The informant was William Berget [sic]. Aaron was buried in Mount Carmel [sic] on 24 Oct 1900, Forsyth & Richardson, undertaker.
