James "Jim" Edward Sipe, 82, of Berryville, died Saturday, February 10, 2018 in the Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Sipe was born July 23, 1935 in Berryville, Virginia, the son of the late James Collin Sipe and Bertha Jefferson Grim Sipe.
He was the manager at Berryville Lumber Company for 42 years.
He served in the National Guard.
He was a member of Clarke County Ruritan Club and a lifetime member of John H. Enders Fire & Rescue.
He was awarded the Clarke County Citizen of the Year in 1997.
He married Mary Lou Larrick on October 22, 1956 in Hagerstown, Maryland.
Surviving with his wife are four daughters, Tammie Braithwaite (Jay), Lori Mackintosh (Bill), and Cindy Sipe (Larry), all of Berryville, VA, and Donna Munsey (Ryan) of Virginia Beach, VA; five sons, James "Tater" Sipe (Donna) , Roy Sipe, Michael Sipe (Stacy), and Stephen Sipe (Melissa), all of Berryville, VA, and Mark Sipe (R. T. Good) of Boca Raton, FL; four sisters, Nettie Mae Crim , Marian Jewell, Jane Barb, and Joyce Hummer, all of Berryville, VA; 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Two brothers, Bill Sipe and Carroll Sipe, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A. M. Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Enders & Shirley Funeral Home Chapel, Berryville with Mr. R. K. Shirley III officiating.
Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Berryville.
Pallbearers will be Irvin King, Butch Mills, Tommy Nugent, Billy Milleson, Charles Bemustaffer, Skip Levi, Dailey Broy, and Steve Rudolph.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Clarke County Ruritan Club.
The family will receive 2:00 - 4:00 P. M. and 6:00 - 8:00 P. M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
