Max was born Feb. 11, 1935, to Basil and Edith (Younger) Clark, in Joplin, where he lived until 1970, when he moved to Lubbock, Texas.
He was a retired building contractor and served his country in the Missouri National Guard.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Mary (Cassidy) Clark, of the home; one daughter, Debbie Clark, Dickens, Texas; one son, Cary Clark (Connie), Wolfforth, Texas; two granddaughters, Ashley Rivas (Sergio), Lubbock, and Myra Clark, Wolfforth; and one great-granddaughter, Eliana; two sisters, Betty Graskemper and Polly Melton (Kenny), both of Joplin; and one brother, Tommy Clark (Martha), Carterville, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Lois Roland; and three brothers, Earl, Allen and Carl Clark.
A memorial service is planned for a later date.
