Second husband of Rebecca (Gibson) Belt (1789-1865). Died after 1860, when he and his family were living in Horsehead, Johnson, Arkansas. He has not been located on the 1870 census, so it is likely he died before then. His wife Rebecca is reported to have died in 1865 in Illinois , but was buried in Louisiana, next to her first husband, Middleton Belt. There is no photo of her headstone and no other record of her death has been found. If she died in 1865, it would appear that William died before then. We are still researching this.
