Wilma Jewel (Jennings) Wilson, 85, of Abilene died Thursday, February 8, 2018 in Abilene at Mesa Springs Healthcare Center.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 11, 2018 at the Bailey Howard Funeral Home Chapel in Clyde.

Wilma was born September 7, 1932 in Maryneal to Jess and Edna (Coleman) Jennings.

She attended school in Maryneal and Clyde.

She married S.P. Wilson, Jr. in Abilene on January 1, 1948.

In 1970 she earned her LVN from Hendrick Nursing School.

She worked at the Baird Hospital and several nursing homes in the area.

They moved to Eastland in 1976 where her husband owned a vacuum repair and sales business.

After her husband's death in 1990, she worked for Choice Home Health Care in Eastland.

In 2007 she moved to Allen to live with her daughter.

She was a member of the Clyde Church of Christ and later the Daughtery Street Church of Christ in Eastland.

She moved to Mesa Springs Healthcare Center in Abilene in October of 2014.

Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, her son Jimmy in 1992, one brother and four sisters.

In lieu of the flowers the family requests donations to Hospice of the Big Country, Meals on Wheels or Huntington's Disease Society of America.
