Jake Andrew Goodnight Jr., 90, died Friday, Feb. 9, 2018. Services will be Noon Tuesday at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home’s chapel with Larry Suttle officiating. Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Park. Visitation will take place Monday 6 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Jake Andrew Goodnight, Jr., 90, passed away Friday, February 9, 2018, in Wichita Falls. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, February 13th at 12:00 p.m. at the Hampton Vaughan Chapel in Wichita Falls. Burial will immediately follow at Crestview Cemetery under the direction of Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.
Jake was born February 15, 1927, in Wanette, Oklahoma, to the late Stella (Smith) Goodnight and the late Jake Goodnight, Sr. He married Bette Lou Dougherty on November 17, 1951, in McAlister, Oklahoma. Before Bette's passing on December 15, 2011, Jake and Bette celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with their family and close friends.
Jake worked as a pharmacist for over 50 years and was recognized by the State of Texas for this amazing accomplishment! He never took his responsibility lightly and his customers became his friends. He earned their trust. Jake and Bette were members of the Tenth and Broad Church of Christ for 33 years.
His love for God, family and friends made him a warrior to stay with us. Throughout his journey he never lost his sense of humor and his ability to make everyone around him smile. His love of life was seen by all that loved and cared for him. To know him was to love him. That love will shine on in the lives of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Bette Lou Goodnight; brothers, Lemuel Goodnight, Daily Goodnight, and Kenneth Goodnight. Survivors include his daughter, Terri Gail Asher and husband, Randy, of Graham; daughter, Jeri Lynn Young and husband, Brad, of Archer City; brother, Chris Goodnight and wife, Molly, of Tecumseh, OK; grandchildren Jamie Hill and husband, Ricky, of San Angelo; Hailey Bussey and husband, Matt, of Willow Park; Prewett Asher of Lubbock; Kylie DeLaO and husband, Ruben, of Houston; Carrie Morton and husband, Daniel, of Austin; and RJ Young of Archer City. He is also survived by his seven great-grandchildren
