WEST TOWNSEND-Lorraine A. (Lesslie) Abreu, 77, a resident of West Townsend and former Chelmsford resident, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday November 19, 2016 at UMASS Memorial Health Alliance Hospital in Leominster. She was the loving wife of Leonard W. Abreu of West Townsend with whom she celebrated 57 years of marriage this year.

Born in Boston on July 26, 1939, she was a daughter of the late Robert E. Lesslie and Grace M. (Beaudry) Lesslie.

For many years Lorraine worked as a buyer for Data Instruments in Acton.

Lorraine had numerous interests that she loved and participated in. From the earliest times in her life she was fascinated with her love of animals including all sorts of pets and every species of wildlife. She became interested in travel early on and throughout her lifetime maintained an active interest in traveling on cruises and visiting many islands in the caribbean. Her favorite port was always the island of Aruba. Other fascinations she had are gardening, knitting, sewing, computer games, reading and redecorating. She always loved music and dancing at nightclubs and especially the Hanscom AFB Officers club. Cooking and collecting recipes was her principal interest in life. She was a superb cook and proved it everyday. Lastly the closest thing to her heart was the love she showed to every member of her family.

In addition to her husband, Lorraine is survived by her children and their spouses, Janet A. Young (James) of Pepperell, Leonard W. Abreu, Jr. (Nancy) of Salem NH, James M.
