Danny Hale, of Scott Depot, passed surrounded by his family and loved ones, on Wednesday, February 7, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edna and Elbert Hale of Winfield, and a brother, Elbert Jr.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Cim, who was his rock in the end and rarely left his side through his illness; his three children who thought the whole world of him: Daniel Hale of Charleston, Holly Hale (Craig Davis) of Hurricane and Jon Hale of Scott Depot. He was also a proud "Papaw" to four grandchildren: Honey Hale, Drew Davis, Taylor Davis, and his littlest best friend, Leo Davis. He is also survived by four brothers: Donald Lee (Joyce) of Monroe, MI, Regis of Buffalo, WV, Keith (Tammy) of Scott Depot and Brian (Venetia) of Hurricane. Also many beloved nieces, nephews and family friends.

He was a hard worker who worked his whole life until he was made to stop by his doctors in November. He spent much of his life as a steel fabricator. Spending over a decade as the shop foreman of Buffalo Manufacturing until it closed and most recently working at Charleston Steel. He lived for the odd builds, like a massive BBQ smoker he took great pride in making. Hard work, taking care of his family, a love for "oldies" and classic rock and a unique sense of humor made up this simple man.

If you had the pleasure of knowing Danny in any capacity, you understand what a massive loss this is to us all.

A celebration of his life will be this Monday, February 12, at Chapman Funeral Home in Teays Valley. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. with the funeral following immediately after at 2 p.m.

Online condolences may also be made by visiting chapmanfuneralhomes.com.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are encouraged to the Alzheimer's Association.

Chapman Funeral Home, family-owned and located at 3941 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane, is honored to serve the Hale family.
