Josie Walker, age 73, a resident of Brandon, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at her home. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 PM Monday, February 12, 2018, at First Baptist Church Brandon, New Campus, with Dr. Chip Henderson and Rev. Don Lum officiating. Interment will follow in Crestview Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday, February, 11, 2018, at Ott and Lee Funeral Home, Brandon, from 5:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. and again Monday at First Baptist Church Brandon, New Campus from 2:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m..

She taught school in Marion County, Forest, and Columbia and served as psychometrist in Columbia and Rankin County Schools. Josie was a member of First Baptist Church of Brandon. Mee Mee loved her children and grandchildren. Her highlight was cooking lunch for all the family on Sunday after church.

Josie was born in Columbia, MS on December 11, 1944, to the late Clyde Summer and Louise Newson Summer. She is also preceded in death by two brothers, Louis Summer and Harold "Buddy" Summer.

She is survived by her husband of 47 plus years, Milton "Hoot" Walker of Brandon; four children, Stacey McCann (Steve) of Hernando, Christi Walker of Brandon, Gage Walker (Carrie) of Flowood, and Brent Walker (Katie) of Brandon; nine grandchildren Andrew McCann, Cailey Walker, Addy McCann, Lainey Walker, Emmie Walker, Lela Walker, William Walker, Maggie Walker, and James Walker; step-mother, Grace Robbins (Pete) of Columbia, MS; two siblings, Margaret Williford of Quitman, TX and John Summer(Barbara) of Brandon, and a host of other relatives and friends.
