Funeral service was Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at the Ree Heights Auditorium with Pastor Sheena Thomson officiating. Burial followed at Morningside Cemetery, Ree Heights.
Lawrence Herbert Kirschenmann was born September 19, 1945 in Pierre, South Dakota to Alvin and Mayo (Sadler) Kirschenmann. He was the oldest of five children. He was raised on a farm south of Harrold.
Lawrence met Doneta Rader and eventually married in 1972; to this union, three boys were born: Steve, Mike, and Roger. Lawrence and Doneta worked side by side on the family farm in Harrold. In November of 1977, they moved to Ree Heights to work for P. Spear Ranch. He enjoyed working cattle, putting up hay, and running the combine. He also took great pride in feeding and caring for the calves for the past 40 years. His three sons have grown up in their father’s footsteps and share a love for cattle and ranch life.
His memory will be cherished by his wife, Doneta; three sons: Steve, Mike, and Roger; siblings: Art (Lynn) Kirschenmann, Merlin (Lois) Kirschenmann, Alma (Jerry) Lappe, and Kristy (Pete) Severson; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
