School Hill - Francis A. Scharenbroch, 95, formerly of School Hill died Thursday morning February 8, 2018 at Morningside Nursing Home. He was born July 17, 1922 in the Town of Meeme, son of the late William & Mary (Miller) Scharenbroch.
On August 21, 1946 he was united in marriage to Ruth Koenig at St. Fidelis Catholic Church. Francis and Ruth farmed most of their married lives in the Town of Meeme until their retirement. They shared 62 years together before Ruth preceded him in death on November 5, 2008.
Francis was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. His greatest joy was spending time in the outdoors. He loved being a farmer and working the land, chopping wood or going to his cabin in Lakewood, WI.
Survivors include his four children; Jean (Bill) Gries, Rockville MD, Stan (Michele) Scharenbroch, Sheboygan, Joyce (Philip) Schroeder, Fond du Lac, Jim (Lorie) Scharenbroch, School Hill, nine grandchildren; Pat (Christine) Gries, Alan (Jennifer) Gries, Eric (Allison) Scharenbroch, Gina (Bill) Heitzman, Scott (Rheanna) Scharenbroch, Jason (Melissa) Schroeder, Crystal Schroeder, Melissa (Al) Meyer, Mike (Jewel) Scharenbroch, 17 great grandchildren; Lauren, Ryan, Sara, Anna, Jessica, Rachel, Ben, Aiden, Sydney, Haley, Alec, Evan, Blake, Lily, Grant, Grayson & Rose. Francis is further survived by his siblings; Simon, Tony, Ray (Caroline) Scharenbroch, Bernice (Eugene) Schnell, Betty Mae Owens, sisters-in-law; Collette, Violet & Agnes Scharenbroch, along with numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Francis was preceded in death by his parents, wife; Ruth, twin grandchildren, his sister; Dorothy (Bernard) Schad, brothers; Bernard, Herb (Bernice), Billy & Alphons, in-laws; Betty Scharenbroch and Terry Owens along with numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, School Hill with Fr. Patrick Nelson S.D.S. officiating, burial will follow in the church cemetery.
