Mrs. Ellis graduated from Central High School in Chattanooga and later worked for Hamilton National Back and retired from the State of Tennessee as secretary in the WIC Department. Mrs. Ellis was a member of The Order of The Eastern Star in Chattanooga for several years. She played the Saxophone in the VFW, Tepco and seniors and friends orchestras for 74 years. She is preceded in death by her husband, Marion V. Ellis, parents, Raymond C. and Cordelia R. Benton, grandson, Phillip S. Ellis, sisters, June Coffman, Olive Hartman and Harriet Youngblood.
Survivors include her son, Lewis M. Ellis, niece, Lola Youngblood, several nieces and nephews.
