Larry Dale Vincent was born and raised in Kansas. He served his country in the late 1960’s as a member of the Army, and saw active duty while stationed in South Korea. After being discharged from service he returned to work at the railroad, where he had started as a copy boy at the age of 18. He retired in 2000 after 40 years of service and at retirement was a Vice President for Norfolk and Southern. He played on the company’s bowling team and he enjoyed organizing the company’s annual family picnic. He was a member of the Traffic and Transportation club of Kansas City and served his final year with the organization as the board President. In 1975 he became a firefighter at the Monticello Union Township Volunteer fire department. He led a very active life of hunting, fishing, camping, travel, knife shows, antiquing, and enjoyed volunteering and sponsoring at the annual banquet for the National Wild Turkey Federation. In October of 2014 he moved to Springfield, Missouri.
He is survived by his partner of 20 years, Jennifer Bayles. He was preceded in death by his parents Leslie Floyd and Alma Vincent. He is survived by his four children: Stephen (Tammy), Stacy (Will), Shawn (Melissa), and Shelly (Darrell). Grandchildren: Lucas (Diana), Elixa (Zach), Quinn, Kerri, Lauren, Victoria, Madison, Mikaela, Allison, and Wyatt. One grandson, Hunter Vincent predeceased him. Great grandchildren: Genesis, Zayden, and Emberlee. His is survived by sister Patty Hester and brother Dean Vincent, and his Aunt Betty.
