1920 ~ 2018

Salt Lake City, Utah-Lorraine Stewart Karren, 97, passed away peacefully in her home February 9, 2018, in Salt Lake City Utah. She was born July 1, 1920, in Salt Lake City to Joshua Beynon and Hazel Mackay Stewart. She attended the University of Utah before marrying Lloyd L Karren on May 9th, 1941 in the Salt Lake Temple. Mom was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She deeply loved each family member equally and unconditionally. Her unwavering faith and devotion to the gospel were demonstrated throughout her life. Mom strengthened everyone who knew her. Her many years of church service include multiple missions with her husband including the England, London South mission in 1983. Mom had an intimate knowledge of the scriptures and was a gifted teacher. Her memory will be honored and cherished by all those who knew her. She is survived by children: Claudia (Lewis) Boone, Stewart (Diana), Jeffrey (Kathy), Becky Stapley, Alan (Mary), 28 grandchildren, and 61 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by; her beloved husband Lloyd, son James, grandchildren Melanie and Ethan. Services will be held on February 16th, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Stake Center, 2245 East 3900 South. 

Family and friends may call on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 So. Highland Drive on February 15th, and at the Stake Center from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m. on Friday, February 16th..
