TRIBUTES (copied from multiple places):

Today my dear friend Alice Bristle left us. A teacher and a friend since I was in 5th grade, Alice was always one of my biggest supporters. She was at every show of mine she could make it to, and once I moved to New York she always messaged me with a "break a leg" for each new show. Through the years we geeked out over Showtunes and shows, shared more meals and chats than can be counted, and I always knew she was there for me if I needed an ear or a laugh. Goodbye sweet friend and may "flights of angels sing thee to thy rest. "

Miss Bristle was never without a laugh. She taught me to sew in high school and helped me get a job as a seamstress at a men's clothing store in Fenton (back in the day). She was also a guest on the My Mom & Me Radio Show, which I hosted with my mom. Alice did her championship hog call for us. It was hilarious! She was always so much fun and kind hearted. The world says goodbye to a beautiful soul.

Vicki ___
Miss Bristle was my favorite teacher at Lake Fenton, she encouraged me to cook and sew. It was long ago, but the lessons I learned were invaluable!

Merrill ___
I'll echo what other former students have written. Ms. Bristle was one of my favorites too. I learned so much from her! Real stuff, useful stuff. But the thing I loved about her was her sense of humor, her fairness, her honesty and how much she cared about all the students. Alice touched a lot lives. She will be remembered well.

Deborah ___
I am saddened to hear of Alice's passing. I will remember Alice for her generous spirit, willingness to collaborate, positive energy, and dedication to the education profession. She impacted the lives of children, parents and colleagues and will be greatly missed. Peace, Alice. (Former NCA colleague)

At my retirement day, when you were standing at the top of the balcony, in the middle. We were looking over the cafeteria tables. And, I told you I was going to miss you most of all. And, I still miss you now.

Amanda ___
My great aunt Alice Bristle was one of the best women I have ever known. She brought me to so many plays growing up and made sure my sister and I read plenty of books. Last week when we were talking she said "you two almost bankrupt me from all of those books" lol. I'm so grateful for everything she did for my sister and I. I could go on forever with all of our amazing memories. I'm just glad you are no longer in pain ❤ you were loved by many. We will continue to eat pestos just for you and hawaiian pizza.

Kellie ___
Ms Bristle had a standard, you met it or you didn't. She had a passion for teaching, but if you took the time to know her....she had a passion for her students more. She could come down on a kid hard, but never harder than that student could handle. Most times, we were better for it. Never once did she sugar coat things for me, but she never talked down to me either. When I needed someone, she was always available. She didn't just teach me in health, speech and several other classes; she taught me in life.

Cheryl ___
Alice Bristle flew to heaven on the wings of an angel. She was an amazing person to know. She had many families: her childhood friends, as a teacher, and all of the many kids that she taught, her theater family and her extensive crafting family, her fair families, farm families, her colleagues of school review and all that I do not even know about and one of her last activities recording stories. Her story would contain all of these and so much more. She loved her life as she wanted committed to all of these activities and all of her families. She did not want to let anyone down. She did not. She gave more of herself all the time every time. She cherished all and expected all to do their best in which ever their lives would take them. Families all of us were very important to her. Her spirit will love on and her presence will be missed on earth. Soar with the angels and yes pigs do fly. I will miss you am very thankful that you are now strong and without pain and suffering. Soar on in all of our hearts.

Some people you are just lucky to know.
Our lives and our families intersected from 2,500 miles away over 20 years ago. We rarely had occassion to be in the same place at the same time, but when we were it was just easy friendship.
I was endlessly jealous of her proximity to theater but forever blown away by all the roles she played: aunt, mom, sister, daughter, friend, teacher, and strong voice for both women and pigs everywhere.
I am grateful that you were in my life and family, Alice Bristle.
