Her husband, James A. Ford Jr., died on November 19, 2011.
Born in Bethlehem, she was a daughter of the late John and Caroline (Schanta) Eichner.
She was a graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School and Reading Area Community College.
Frances was employed at BCIU as a special education teacher aide for many years. She later worked for the
County of Berks in the prothonotary office until her retirement.
She was a member of St. Catharine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, Mt. Penn.
Frances was an avid reader. She also enjoyed knitting, cross stitch, crossword puzzles, word games and was a trivia buff.
Frances was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who will be missed dearly.
She is survived by six children: James A. III, husband of Linda Ford, of Muhlenberg Township, Mary F., wife of Paul P. Clark, of Whitfield, Patricia A., wife of Donald R. Unger, of Reading, John M., husband of Marjorie Ford, of Sevierville, Tenn., Sara E., wife of James P. Stewart, of Mohrsville, and Kathleen M. Keck, of Lancaster; eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Frances had three siblings: Helen Senyszyn (deceased), Edward Eichner, Rocky Hill, Conn., and Frieda, wife of Joseph Soska, Bethlehem.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, February 12, 2018, at 10 a.m. at St. Catharine of Siena
Roman Catholic Chapel, 2427 Perkiomen Ave., Reading, PA 19606, with entombment to follow at Gethsemane Mausoleum. A viewing will be Monday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the chapel. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
