Brenda Gayle Porter Harper 62, passed away February 6th near her home in Webster with family at her side.

Brenda was born April 25, 1955, in Pasadena TX, to Doris and Lois Porter, she was the baby of 5 children. A lifelong La Porte Bulldog, she graduated in 1973, and shortly after married her husband of 44 years. She lived in the 600 blocks of Kansas and Utah most of her life. She retired to East Texas after many years with LaPorte ISD at Baker 6th grade campus, eventually settling back by the bay to be closer to the loves of her life, her grandchildren.
Brenda had a heart the size of Texas, and never met a stranger but wasn’t afraid to speak her mind. Her devotion to family and community as well as her cooking were unmatched and will be surely missed. She had a love for live music, Tex-Mex and football. She was funny, truly one of a kind and had an infectious laugh.

Brenda is preceded in death by her parents, Doris and Lois Porter, and her Brother Kenneth Porter.

Brenda is survived by her husband Bob “Rocky” Harper her children, Megan Harper, Justin Harper, and Wife Rachel, and Grandchildren Lane, Jack, Bannister and Benjamin Harper. Brothers Clifford Porter and his Wife Betsy. Alton Porter and his Wife Vicki; Sister Charlotte Horn and Husband Gene, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

Visitation for Brenda Gayle Porter Harper will be Friday February 9th, 2018, beginning at 5:00-7:00pm at the Paul U. Lee Funeral home in the Chapel. Funeral will be at the First United Methodist Church in LaPorte at 2:00. Interment to follow at Grandview Memorial Park.
