He retired as an automotive designer from Chrysler in Auburn Hills followed by proprietorship of David's Dolce Vita, Tobacconist & Wine Merchant, in Hillsdale. David was a car enthusiast, who also loved animals and showing his prized golden retrievers. He served on the TIFA Board of Directors and was a member of the Hillsdale Elks Lodge and St. Anthony Catholic Church.
Surviving besides his wife, Debra, are two sons, Shawn Kamen of Chicago and Adam (Elizabeth) Kamen of Macomb and three grandchildren, Gregory, Andrew and Gabrielle.
David was preceded in death by his parents and a step-brother, John.
A Mass of Christian Burial for David Kamen will be held Monday, February 12, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Hillsdale with Fr. David Reamsnyder officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsdale. The family will receive friends for visitation Sunday from 2:00-5:00 P.M. at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale.
