On the morning of January 1st, Donna passed away in Newport, Washington. She was born and raised in Yakima, Washington with older sister, Louise (Marble) under the desert sun and sweet smelling orchards of Central Washington.

A “Husky” all the way, Donna graduated in 1950 from the U/W, earning her BA in English and was an active member of the Alpha Phi sorority. She married Army soldier Trevor Wilkinson from West Seattle in 1951, raised three children - Donald, Wayne and Ann, and celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary last year.

Nothing brought Donna greater pleasure than spending time with her family, including grandchildren Don, Marc (Krista), Bryn, Harrison and Nobelle; and great-grandchildren Summer, Calista and Brody. She taught us all to be card sharks and excelled at Bridge with many wonderful friends over the years.

She was an avid tennis player and alongside Trevor, were founding members of the Bainbridge Racquet Club now (BAC). A vociferous reader, Donna enjoyed lively discussions with her book groups and loved supporting her “theatrical” family throughout the years at BPA.

Donna was a long standing member of the 1st Church of Christ, Scientist on Bainbridge Island. She loved serving her church and outreach efforts within her community including healing lecture series and serving in the Reading Room.

She is preceded in passing by her son, Donald and survived by husband, Trevor of Poulsbo, Washington; son and daughter-in-law, Wayne & Terri Wilkinson of Newport, Washingoton; and daughter and son-in-law, Ann & John Ellis of Bainbridge Island, Washington.

Remembrances may be sent to [email protected]. If you wish to make a donation in Donna’s memory, please send to: Bainbridge Performing Arts: 200 Madison Ave N. Bainbridge Island, WA 98110 or a charity of your choice.

Mama Donna liked her soup “hot!” so we’re hosting a “Hot Soup” party in her honor on Saturday, February 17th from noon - 3 p.m. at the Ellis’ home: 3628 Point White Drive NE. Please bring a favorite photo or story of Donna to share.
