Tina Vaughn was born with a twin on April 5, 1963 in Rutherford County, Tennessee to the late Willie Lee Batey, Sr. and Jeanetta Benford Batey. She transitioned from this earthly life to eternal rest on Saturday, February 3,2018
Tina accepted Christ at an early age at Webb Chapel AME Church, which is now New Webb Grove AME Church. She received her education in the Rutherford County School System. She was employed with the Tridon Company for many years. Tina loved yard sales, collecting antiques and decorating her home.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles Edward and Hezekiah Summers; and her sister, Mary Ann Brooks.
Tina leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband, William Vaughn; loving sons, Wilhelm Morris (Christy) Vaughn of Murfreesboro and Morteze Vaughn of Smyrna; brothers, Jesse (Lizzie) Summers of Murfreesboro, Erskine (Sheila) Wade of San Antonio, Texas, Willie Lee Jr. (Diane), Vincent (Donna) and Richard Batey of Murfreesboro; sisters, Margaret Puckett, Glenda Faye McCullough, Bertha Johnson all of Murfreesboro and her twin, Terri Batey of Antioch; nine grandchildren, Austin and Miracle Roberson, Aliyah, Amyiah, Marcell, Anthony, Adelynn, Audrey and Annadella Vauglm; mother-in-law, Helen Vaughn of Smyrna; brother-in-law, John Brooks of Shelbyville; uncles, Clarence (Barbara) Binford of Murfreesboro, Jimmy (Joanne) Henderson of Louisville, Kentucky and Joe (Margaret) Benford of Murfreesboro; aunts, Willie Mae Avent and Marie Butler of Murfreesboro; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and devoted friends, Jackie, Linda and Pat.
