--8th of 9 children of Carl and Pauline Yarbrough, he moved with his family to Charlotte when he was 6 months old.
--He graduated from Thomasboro High School in 1948, where he was Senior Class President and on the baseball team.
--U.S. Air Force Veteran. He served from January 1951-December 1953.
--Occupation: Pharmaceutical Sales and Marketing Rep for 42 years. He retired from Geer Drug Company with 27 years of service.
--longtime member of Cooks Memorial Presbyterian Church, where he had served as Elder, Deacon, and Sunday School teacher and sang in the choir 50 years. He also sang at weddings of friends and family.
--Bob married Sara C. Dunn on May 26, 1954 in Charlotte. They were blessed with 3 children: Christie, Michael, and Connie and 3 grandchildren.
--member of Long Creek masonic lodge for 50 years.
--avid golfer who played in amateur tournaments.
--Bob and Sara enjoyed traveling across the U.S. and Canada in retirement.
