OKOLONA - Mrs. Annie Marie Morgan Massey, 98, died Monday, February 5, 2018, in Personal Place Assisted Living in Aberdeen. She was born March 2, 1919, in Houston, to Thomas C. Morgan and Trannie Cox Morgan. She and Marvin S. Massey were married November 27, 1941, in Buena Vista. Marie greatly enjoyed life as an extraordinary homemaker. She enjoyed reading and working puzzles with her special friend, Vergie Harris. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, loving life with abundance. "You Never Know"!

A service of Death and Resurrection will be 2 p.m. Friday, February 9, 2018, at First United Methodist Church of Okolona where she was a member. The Rev. David R. Harrell and the Rev. Mary Hutson will officiate. A graveside service will follow at Lee Memorial Park. Visitation will be Thursday, 5 until 7 p.m. at the Okolona Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors and Friday 10 a.m. until service time at the church.

Survivors include her sons, Marvin S. Massey Jr. (Mariden) of Tyler, Texas, and Lloyd W. Massey (Jean) of Aberdeen; daughter-in-law, Sheila Massey of Colorado Springs, Colorado; six grandchildren, Marvin S. Massey III (Heather), Christopher T. Massey (Ema), Sarah Olive (Harrison Jay), Tammy Gaskin Massey, Elizabeth Lann (Matthew), Brent Davidson (Melissa), and James Massey; nine great-grandchildren, Hannah Gaskin, Mattilyn Lann, Evan Massey, Quinn Massey, Harrison Olive, Morgan Olive, Mason Olive, Haley Olive, Will Massey, Corrine Wellman, and Sarah Wellman; nephew, Robert Garner (Dell); and niece, Lanelle McMillan (Bobby).
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of fifty-nine years, Marvin S. Massey, who died June 27, 2000; son, Jerry Massey, who died in 2008; brothers, Floyd Morgan and Louis Morgan; sisters, Maggie Morgan, Esterlene Morgan, and Ara Mae Garner.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Matthew Lann, Harrison Olive, Chris Massey, Marvin Massey III, James Massey, and Jessie Garner. Honorary pallbearers will be her friends at Personal Place Assisted Living.
