Jean A. Somp of Erwinna passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Neshaminy Manor. She was 76.

Born in Abington, she was the daughter of the late Emma Reid and John A. VanSant, Sr.

As a result of Jean’s love for aviation, she operated the family business, Van Sant Enterprises which was involved with antique aircraft parts. She loved to wing walk, enjoyed flying and was a part of Van Sant Airport.

Other interests of Jean’s included gardening, cooking, painting and having a “pristine lawn.”

She also had a great love for Hawaii and spent a large part of her life there.

Jean’s family will remember her affectionately as a “piece of work.”

Surviving is her daughter-in-law, Kathy P. Somp and her grandson, David N. Somp. She was predeceased by her son, David W. Somp.

Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service, 11 a.m., Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Reed and Steinbach Funeral Home, 2335 Lower State Road, Doylestown where the family will receive guests from 10 a.m., until the time of the service. Interment will follow in Keller’s Church Cemetery, Perkasie.
