Connie Ray Patterson, 91, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2018 in Coppell, Texas. Born in Ranger, Texas on December 10, 1926, Connie was the only child of Robert and Naomi Wheat. He graduated from El Centro High School in El Centro, California. He then proudly served in the United States Army during World War II. On August 8, 1945 he married the love of his life, Mary Boone Patterson in Anson, Texas. They shared 71 years of marriage before her death in December 2016.

Connie and Mary were longtime residents of Midland, Texas where they raised their family, were active in the community, and cultivated many friendships. Connie had a long career in printing before retiring from Qualified Printers in 1993. He was also a dedicated member of Midland Masonic Lodge No. 623.

Throughout his life, Connie enjoyed watching football, square dancing, gardening, and traveling across the U.S. and abroad. Most of all, he cherished fellowship with family and friends. Connie will be fondly remembered as a devoted dad, a precious Poppy, and a fun-loving friend.

Connie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary; daughter-in-law, Christy Patterson; and great-grandson, Sean Patterson. Connie is survived by his 3 children and their spouses, Bobby Patterson and Lin Restley of Spring Branch, Bill Patterson and Dennis McNabb of Houston, and Steve and Mary Ann Mansell of Colleyville; 8 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his dear sister-in-law, Wanda Burkhalter of Midland, and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2018, at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland, Texas. Services entrusted to American Heritage Funeral Home, Midland, Texas.
