Kathy Lynne Payne, age 65 of Stony Point, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. She was born March 21, 1952 in Iredell County to the late Stamey Carter and Lois Combs Payne.
Before her illness she was employed by the Iredell County School System as an assistant teacher.
Kathy graduated from Stony Point High School in 1970 and was a lifelong member of Stony Point United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Stony Point Chapter.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Robbie Cherry and her brother, Carter Payne.
Kathy is survived by her son, Darrick Reavis and wife April, and two grandchildren; Makayla and Holden Stamey Reavis all of Stony Point.
A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 PM Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Stony Point United Methodist Church, Ruritan Park Road Stony Point, NC. Pastor Donnie Durham will officiate. Burial will follow in the Stony Point Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:50 PM prior to the funeral service.
