Timothy Leon "Poppa T" Butler, Sr., 69, passed away on Friday, January 26, 2018. Tim was a retired Chief Warrant Officer from the U.S. Army, having served in Vietnam in the 11th Armored Cavalry as a helicopter pilot. He served bravely with honor and had a deep love for his country.

He will be remembered by all of his many loved ones as a courageous patriot, a devoted friend, and proud loving father and grandfather. His adventurous joie de vivre, will be treasured by us all.

Tim was preceded in death by his father, Leon Butler; mother, Nora Butler; and sister, Linda.

He is survived by his son, Tim Butler, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Kristin Butler; two grandchildren, Nora Ann and Joshua Butler, who adored their "Poppa T". His grandchildren were the loves of his life!

He is also survived his sister, Elaine Oswald; brother, Leland Butler and wife, Linda; several nieces and nephews; numerous cousins, relatives and dear close friends.

The family requests that donations be made in lieu of flowers to Homes for our Troops, hfotusa.org.
