Anna Bess Leinweber Davis

Anna Bess Leinweber Davis was born on the Leinweber Ranch in Ingram, Texas on October 26, 1932. She was one of eight children born to Stephen Gerard and Lena Pearl Banta Leinweber. Anna Bess resided in Pasadena, Texas for the past 54 years. She was an active member of her community and supported several functions and activities. She was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church, Order of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), Houston Museum of Fine Arts, and Association of University Women. In addition to serving as a Sunday School Teacher and Girl Scout Leader, she was Past President of the local Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), Past Mother Advisor of the League City Rainbow Girls, Past Chairman of the Bay Area Christian Women’s Club (an affiliate of the Billy Graham Crusades), and Charter Member and Officer of the NASA Christian Women’s Club at Clear Lake. Anna Bess and her husband Stuart, a retired Philco/Ford Aerospace Engineer with NASA, also owned, operated and spent a great deal of their time in Kimble County on their ranch located in Junction, Texas. In 2012, at the age of 80 years, Anna Bess wrote and published her autobiography. Her book titled, “Anna’s Miracles”, was sold around the world by Barnes and Noble, Amazon, Nook Books, Sears, and Kindle Books. Anna was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Ambers Stuart Davis, her sisters, Frances Wehmeyer, Ferne Eckert, Faye Dickey, Ollie (Peggy) Whitworth, Gerdie Bluemel and her brother Robert Leinweber. She is survived by her daughters, Kelly Gwyn Davis, Kimberly Lynn Davis Elledge and husband Bob Elledge, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren, and one sister, Helen Joann Taylor. Her kindness and loving heart touched many people throughout her lifetime. She never met a stranger and enjoyed sharing her miracle of healing from stage IV cancer which gave hope and renewed faith to the many listeners of her story. Anna Bess dearly loved her family members as well as all her neighbors and friends. Please rejoice with her and her family as she goes to join her Heavenly Hosts. Memorial service will be held Saturday, February 17, 2018 in the Chapel of Deer Park Funeral Directors, 336 E. San Augustine, Deer Park, Texas, 281-476-4693.
