Matthew Vincent Cobb
March 28, 1982 - February 1, 2018

It is with profound sadness that the family of Matthew Vincent Cobb announces his unexpected passing on February 1, 2018 at the age of 35. A native Houstonian, Matthew was born on March 28, 1982.
Matthew was an accomplished runner, who proudly attended the University of Houston on a running scholarship and he remained a committed Cougar fan. His love of running and exercise continued long after his days at the University of Houston. Matt proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for over seven years, rising to the rank of Staff Sergeant. His service included combat deployments to both Iraq and Afghanistan, and service in South Korea and Germany. After his honorable discharge from the Army, Matt went back to school and finished his degree. He was also well along his way to receiving his MBA. Matt was a wonderful father who dearly loved his family and friends. He will be missed beyond words.
Matt is survived by his parents, Cindy and Rick, his precious daughter Dakota, siblings Chase (Amy) and Cammie (Dustin), his nephew Logan and niece Abigail. He will also be remembered by his grandfather, Mel, his grandmother, Joe Ann, and his numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and dear friends.
May you rest in peace Choo-Choo.
A visitation will be held at the Klein Funeral Home (Champions location) on Sunday, February 11th  from 5-8 PM. The funeral service will be held at the same location on Monday, February 12th at 10 AM. Burial will be at the Houston National Cemetery at 12:30 PM on February 12th.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that anyone wishing to honor veterans like Matthew consider making a small donation to VETMotorsports. VETMotorsports is a non-clinical outreach program that honors and empowers veterans through active participation in motorsports. These unique experiences provide direction, empowerment, and challenges along with what wounded combat veterans desire most -- a mission, a purpose. More information along with directions on making a donation in Matthew's honor can be found here:http://www.vetmotorsports.org/donate/
