Edwin Edward Denke, 95, of Grants Pass died Friday, Feb. 2, 2018, at Royale Gardens. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m., at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.

Edwin Edward Denke, 95 years of age, of Grants Pass Oregon, passed away on
Friday, February 2, 2018.
Ed was born in Creighton, South Dakota, on April 17, 1922. He graduated
from high school in Quinn, South Dakota, in 1943, and received his Bachelor’s
Degree in 1957 from Black Hills Teacher College. He received his Masters Degree
from Nazarene College in Pasadena, California.
Ed was married to his first wife, Amy B. Clark, on August 19, 1950, until her death
on February 3, 1971. There were married more than 20 years. They
had daughters Sheila Marie and Irene Ann. Sheila preceded him in
death in February 2015.
Ed worked as a teacher for 13 years in South Dakota and 24 years
in California. He was actively involved in the Seventh-Day Adventist
Church. He enjoyed traveling and working in his garden. Ed had the
proverbial green thumb.
He married his second wife, Amy Lee Dickinson on June 17,
1972. She was formerly married to Joe Leroy Melton, who passed
away in March 1971. She is the mother of sons, Larry L. and Dennis
R. Dennis, who preceded her in death in 2005.
Ed is survived by his wife, Amy Lee; daughter, Irene Ann Denke;
step-son, Larry L. Melton; and wife Terry Melton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to
Better Life Broadcasting Network.
