Claudia Mozelle Cooper Wright, “Gran”, died on Friday, November 15, 2013, at home, at the age of 97.

She was born to Claude Preston Cooper and Minnie Selma Pickens Cooper, pioneer residents of the Pleasant Grove Community, on September 16, 1916. She attended Pleasant Grove School, and was one of the first, First Grade students entering the new Pleasant Grove School in 1922. She graduated from Texas Senior High School in 1934.

Mozelle was a Homemaker, and a member of the Central Christian Church for more than 60 years. She was active in Christian Womens Fellowship, serving as a Group Leader. She was a teacher in the Sunday School Primary Department, and a member of Paul’s Class, and the Chancel Choir. She also served as a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts, and was a Room Mother at Highland Park Elementary School, for several years.

In addition, she served as a volunteer at the Texarkana Historical Museum, and at Wadley Hospital, where she was awarded a 500 hour pin from the Texas Association of Hospital Auxiliaries.

She is predeceased by her husband, Walter Lionel Wright, Jr., and her daughter, Ann Wright Coleman.
