Cheryl Jenkins Taylor of Reynolds at Lake Oconee, Greensboro, GA, went to be with her heavenly Father on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at her residence at the age of 72. Cheryl was born in Lumberton, NC on January 9, 1946, a daughter of the late Mervyn Magruder Jenkins and Mary Ida Lennon Jenkins. She graduated from Headland High School in East Point, GA and received a B. S. in Education from Auburn University where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority. In 1994, she married David Taylor, and in 2000 they moved from Bedford, MA to Reynolds. Cheryl was a wonderful mother, wife, grandmother and sister who was deeply committed to her family. She was known for her kind and gentle nature and was loved by everyone who knew her. She loved cooking, traveling, visiting farmers’ markets, and playing cards with friends. She was a member of Lake Oconee Presbyterian Church in Eatonton.

In addition to her husband, David Taylor of Greensboro, GA, she is survived by three sons: Thad Pruett (Debbie) of Nesbit, MS, Ken Pruett of Memphis, TN, Shaun Pruett (Nikki) of Hernando, MS; a daughter, Jamie Hargett (Alan) of Collierville, TN; two sisters, Judy Redding (Clyde) and Terri DeLoach (Wayne); seven grandchildren: Alex and Abbe Hargett, Luke Pruett, Abby Raiford, J.T. Pruett, Oliver Pruett, and Jamie Grigsby. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Jan Lennon Jenkins.

Memorial Services will be held Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 3:00 pm at Lake Oconee Presbyterian Church, 113 Scott Road, Eatonton, GA 31024 with Rev. Marion CLark and Rev. Samuel Smith officiating, Prior to the service, the family will receive friends from 2:00 -3:00 pm at the church. Following the service, the family asks that you join them in the Narthex for light refreshments to celebrate Cheryl’s life.
