Jo Ann Wood was born February 11, 1934, in Ada, Oklahoma, to Le Roy and Alma Fletcher Barber. She died Monday February 5, 2018, at Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 83 years. Jo Ann was married August 19, 1950, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Williard “Lynn” Wood. They had made their home in Owasso since 1997. She had spent much of her working life as a dental assistant with Strain Dental in Missouri, as well as a homemaker caring for her family. She was a faithful member of Rejoice Free Will Baptist Church in Owasso where she was active with the Women’s National Active for Christ. She was an avid reader and enjoyed floral design. She especially enjoyed sewing for her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral service will be held 10:00 Friday, February 9, 2018, at Rejoice Church in Owasso with Pastor Leonard Pirtle officiating. Committal service and interment will be held later at Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma.
