Elbert P Montgomery was the s/o George Washington Montgomery & Melvinia (Halbrook) Montgomery.

He was married three times.

First in abt 1926 to a Miss Alice (Sparks) Montgomery when she was 17 & he was 20 (as reported on their 1930 census when they were 21 & 24 in St Francois County, Missouri) & had two little children: Leroy Levester Montgomery (m.Mabel Viola Crites) (b.1927) & baby Molly Montgomery (b.1929). Alice's presumed passing date after the 1930 census but before 1936, place & grave are yet unfound.

Elbert P Montgomery was married a second time in Dec-1936 per the published Marriage License record in the Leadwood Press for the couple both of Elvins, St Francois County, Missouri (but there also exists a recorded Solemnized Marriage record for some unknown reason in July-1939 in Bloomfield, Stoddard County, Missouri) to an Nettie Alberta (Middleton) Montgomery in Elvins, St Francois County, Missouri when she was 17 & he 30. She was the d/o Henry Joseph "Harry" Middleton & Ella Mae (Lee) Middleton (later Smith). Elbert & Nettie Alberta had two more children: Roberta June Montgomery (later Mrs Floyd Sexton Jr) (b.1938) & Shirley Jane Montgomery (later Mrs Frankie Lee Politte) (b.1939). Very sadly, with her daughters still babies, Nettie Alberta (Middleton) Montgomery was only 20 when she died of burns in 1940. She missed that year's census. Her widower Elbert and his four children -- two by Alice, two by Alberta -- was listed on the 1940 census in Elvins as a Boarder, as was his older brother Luther Montgomery with his family, living with their widowed mother Melvinia (Halbrook) Montgomery, since the death of their father George Washington Montgomery (d.1931).

Then Elbert & his four kids found Olivia Womack & her son.

Originally spelled with an 'e', Miss Olevia Bernice Revelle, d/o Vergie Ellen (Swafford) Revelle & Marvin Danielle Revelle, she had been married to a Mr Womack abt 1938 age 21. As (the former Mrs) Olivia Womack, age 28, on 14-Jul-1945 in Leadington, St Francois County, Missouri, she & 39yo Elbert P Montgomery were married. On the 1950 census in Elvins of Elbert & Olivia Montgomery, are his 12 & 11 year old daughters Roberta Montgomery & Shirley Montgomery by second late wife Alberta, and his stepson, Olivia's son Robert P Womack, also age 11. -- Elbert's eldest children by first late wife Alice (Sparks) Montgomery, Leroy & Molly, were by then abt 23 & 21, in households of their own.

Elbert & Olivia Montgomery were married almost 43 years from July-1945 until her demise first in April-1987, age 70, followed by Elbert six years later in May-1993 at 87. They rest together under a joint headstone in Woodlawn Cemetery, Leadington, St Francois County, Missouri.
