Murray, UT-Arvella Engle Stewart passed away peacefully on July 6, 2015. She was born to Edward and Susanna Chidister Engle on June 30, 1924, in Huntington, Utah. As the oldest of eleven children during the Great Depression, she spent many hours helping raise her brothers and sister through hard times.
She married David Glenn Stewart January 3, 1945, after waiting for him while he served honorably in the Pacific during World War II. Glenn and Arvella were sealed in the Salt Lake temple as a family with their children in the fall of 1954.
After her beloved husband passed away in 1971, Arvella traveled all over the United States with many good friends. She was an active member of her condo association board, working as manager until she retired in her 80's. She belonged to a bowling league at Shepherd's All Star Lanes, where she served as league secretary for many years.
Arvella was preceded in death by her husband Glenn and daughter Joyce Stewart Murie. She is survived by her sons Ray (Linda) Stewart and Boyd Stewart, eight grandchildren, and many cherished great and great-great grandchildren.
Arvella will be laid to rest next to her eternal companion following graveside services that will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Redwood Memorial Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, UT.
