Roger Wegner Reeves 88 of Blanco passed away on Monday, May 30, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, services will be on Friday, June 3, 2016 at Crofts – Crow Funeral Chapel at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in the Blanco Cemetery.
Roger was born on May 1, 1928 in Carthage, Texas to James Roger and Melida Henrietta (Wegner) Reeves. He attended school in New Braunfels, but more importantly spent his childhood fishing and playing in the Comal River. Roger met the love of his life when Ruth Cravatt walked through the door of the Blanco Blowing Club and married her in 1960. He owned and operated the Reeves Exxon gas station on Main St. for many years where he proudly serviced the Blanco community and passers-by. Roger went on to “retire” in 1988 by cutting cedar with his wife and grandchildren for the next 15 years! Roger Reeves, known as “Daddy” to his adoring daughters and “Paw Paw” to his grandchildren was always first to lend a helping hand and last to walk away. He is preceded in death by his parents, a daughter; Vaudie Lynn Burton, a brother; James Roy Reeves and his wife Earlene, a sister; Dorothy Faye Hancock and a son-in-law Gary Turner.
Roger is survived by his wife; Ruth Reeves of Blanco, daughters; Patricia Gail Moore and husband John of Blanco, Patricia Turner of Las Vegas, NV., Dorothy Ann Ray and husband Danny of Blanco, Evelyn “Evie” May Adkinson of Blanco. Fourteen grandchildren, twenty-four and a half great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family and friends.

As Roger would say, “If you see one comin’ head on… Head for the ditch!”
