Raymond W. "Hawkey" Hawk, 84, of Palmerton, passed away Saturday, Jan. 20, in Brookmont Health Care Center, Effort. He was the husband of Shirley M. (Bartholomew) Hawk for 63 years last April.

He worked as an electrician for the former New Jersey Zinc Company, Palmerton, for 33 years until retiring in 1996.

He was a member of Jerusalem United Church of Christ, and a life member of Towamensing Fire Company, both in Trachsville.

Born in Kresgeville, he was a son of the late Floyd and Cora (Shupp) Hawk.

Survivors: Wife; daughter Kim and husband Michael Williams; sons David, and wife Rosa, Dennis, and wife Gail, Dwight, and wife Maryjean, Duane, and wife Lisa; eight grandchildren, four great-
grandchildren, all of Palmerton; brothers Clarence, and wife Mary Lou, of Kunkletown, Gerald of Bowmanstown, and Kenneth of East Stroudsburg; many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his daughter Jodie and four sisters.

Services: Memorial, 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 25 in the church, 545 Church Drive, Trachsville. Call 10-11 a.m. Thursday in church.

Floyd was the President of the Hawk Family Reunion 1976-1982. He moved the reunion from the West End Fairgrounds, Gilbert (Monroe) PA to the Little Gap Grange Grove, Little Gap (Carbon) PA in 1976. It remained at that location through 1991.
