Malinda B. Jackson entered into eternal rest at her residence in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. She was an 87-year-old native of Roseland, Louisiana.

Visitation at Mt. Zion B.C., Thursday, February 1, 2018, from 5-8 pm; visitation resumes at he church on Friday, February 2, 2018, at 8 am until service at 10 am conducted by Bishop George C. Pierce; interment at Port Hudson National Cemetery.

Survivors include her children, Doris Ross (Joseph), Carolyn Coleman (Gerald), Sandra Rutledge, Jacqueline McClendon and Byron Jackson (Ebra); daughter-in-law, Joycelyn Jackson; siblings, Maude Sims and Shirley Wilson; 13 grandchildren including Derek Ware, Leticia Ware and Geralyn Coleman, whom she reared; 17 great-grandchildren; host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Jackson; parents, Ellis and Nettie Brooks; a son, Charles Jackson Sr.; siblings, Claudia Dyson, James Brooks, Lucille and Wilmer Burton; a grandson, Raymond Ross; and a son-in-law, Earl Rutledge.

Mrs. Jackson served at Mt. Zion B.C. as a deaconess and the church's Secretary/Finance Manager for over 60 years. Arrangements by Miller & Daughter Mortuary.
