Theodore Bergeron, 81, of Milo township, died Sunday evening at 9:45 at the Memorial hospital in Milaca. His health had been failing for about five years.
Funeral services are being conducted this afternoon, Thursday, at 2 o'clock at the Methodist church in this village with Rev. Lewis Allin officiating. Mrs. James Heymer will sing, "Beyond the Sunset" and "The Old Rugged Cross," accompanied by Mrs. Henry Milbrath as organist. Pallbearers are Walter, Bruce and Daniel Bergeron, Robert Wallace, Dallas and Dennis DeJong. Burial will be in Oak Knoll cemetery.
Theodore Bergeron, son of Leon and Rose Genenous Bergeron, was born on April 8, 1877, at Hamm Lake in Anoka county. He came to Mille Lacs county when he was 17 years of age, and has lived on his present farm in Milo township for 42 years.
On April 8, 1902, he was married at Princeton to Lettie Bruce. There were eight children, of whom one daughter, Mariam (Mary), preceded her father in death.
Mr. Bergeron is survived by his wife, Lettie; three sons, Walter and Bruce cf Princeton, and Daniel of St. Cloud; four daughters Mrs. Fremond Schimmerhorn (Lillian) of Ramey, Mrs. Ray Schmatz (Hazel) and Mrs. Jake DeJong (Marjorie), of Princeton, and Mrs. Roland Wallace (Lola) of Minneapolis; 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grand-children. He also leaves five brothers, Leon of Hill City, Oliver of Duluth, William of Remer, Adolph of Flint, Mich., and Louis of Chicago; and four sisters, Rose Peterson of Greenbush, Jennie Quady of Minneapolis, Alice Mather of Hill City, and Elma Bergeron of Faribault. Four brothers preceded him in death.
