Funeral service for Mark Allen Shelton age 58, of Mountain Park, Oklahoma will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at the First Baptist Church of Snyder with Rev. Diana Steiger and Perry Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain Park Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Mr. Shelton passed away Saturday, February 3, 2018, in a Lawton hospital.
Mark Allen Shelton was born January 10, 1960, in Altus, Oklahoma to Jimmie Ray and Phyllis Colleen (Killian) Shelton. He attended Mountain Park Schools. He worked as Water Superintendent for the City of Mountain Park for over twenty-nine years. He served on the Mountain Park Volunteer Fire Department, retiring in 2015. Mark was a family man; his children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. He enjoyed traveling.
He is survived by his mother, Phyllis Shelton of Roosevelt; one son, Paul Shelton of the home; two daughters, Melissa Melton and her husband William of Mountain Park and Amy Shelton and her companion Bruce Grear of the home; three sisters, Tammy Phares and her husband Scott of Mountain Park, Rhonda Ward and Tonia Shelton both of Roosevelt; two grandchildren, Marissa Melton and Noah Shelton; and a host of aunts, uncles and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmie Ray Shelton, Sr., his grandparents, Paul and Maudie Killian and Aaron and Nora Shelton; one brother, Jimmie Ray Shelton, Jr.; and a brother-in-law, William Tracy Ward.
