Glenn Harry Stanford, age 89, of Louisville, Illinois, passed away, at 9:31 am, Monday, January 29, 2018, at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.

Glenn was born Wednesday, October 10, 1928 in Louisville, Illinois the son of the late Fred R. Stanford and the late Flossie (Harper) Stanford. On January 29, 1955 he was united in marriage to Betty Jo Garrett at the Bethalto, Illinois, Methodist Church.

He was employed by Garrett Heating and Cooling as an electrician and also did sheetmetal working. He was a veteran of the United States Army and spent time in Korea and Germany as a Corporal. He was a member of Louisville United Methodist Church as well as a previous member of the Louisville American Legion. He was a lifelong Cubs fan.

Glen leaves to mourn his passing, wife Betty Jo Stanford of Louisville, Illinois; son, Steve (Betty D.) Stanford of Louisville, Illinois; daughters, Julie (Harry) Winterrowd of Louisville, Illinois; sister-in-laws, Della Rose Stanford of Effingham, Illinois; Lyla Stanford of Bethalto, Illinois; Geneva Stanford of Kingwood, Texas; Karyl Hoffman of Altamont, Illinois; grandchildren, Buck (Tiffany) Stanford of Bluffdale, Utah; Jeff Stanford of Bluffdale, Utah; Matthew (Amanda) Winterrowd of Louisville, Illinois; great grandchildren, Dylan, Bradyn, Korbyn and Allyson Stanford, Madison and Mackenzie Winterrowd.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Robert, Jack, Jim, Charlie, Tom and Joe Stanford; grandson Brian Stanford.

Arrangements are entrusted to J.W. Funeral Home of Louisville,Illinois, where the family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, Friday, February 2, 2018. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Orchard Hill Cemetery, Louisville, Illinois. Military rites will be accorded at the cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Louisville United Methodist Church or the Clay County Animal Rescue Shelter and will be received at the funeral home.
