Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church in New Hampton, IA with Pastor Kevin Frey officiating. Burial will be in New Hampton Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Conway-Markham Funeral Home in New Hampton, IA and will continue on Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
Roger Lee Horton was born on December 3, 1951 to Eugene and Arlys (Hyde) Horton in Charles City, IA. Roger grew up in New Hampton where he graduated from New Hampton High School in 1970.
He was self employed operating Horton’s Painting and Tree Trimming specializing in farm and commerical buildings. Roger lived and worked in New Hampton all of his life.
Roger enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, camping with family and friends. He especially enjoyed his grandchildren, playing games, reading, boating and going to the park with them. Roger was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Roger is survived by his sons Scott (Angie) Horton of Crans, Switzerland and Brad (Jennifer) Horton of Robins, IA; grandchildren Jacob, Abby, Lucas, Ella and Rachel; sister Doris (Don) Rinehart of Ft. Dodge, IA; brothers Gary Horton of Altoona, IA and Don (Sandra) Horton of Marion, IA; several nieces and nephews and special friend Janine Witte of Ft. Dodge, IA.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Arlys Horton and sister-in-law Pat Horton.
