Mrs. Emma Kaplan, 54, wife of John Kaplan, 1534 Seventh avenue, died at a local hospital at 3:15 a.m. today after a short illness. She was born near Ely and had lived in this vicinity all her life. Besides her husband she is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Frank, Joseph and Adolph Kvetinsky; Mrs. Joseph Rohlena, Mrs. Joseph Troyak, Mrs. Godfrey Leksa, all of Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Louis Kubik, Center Point; Mrs. Joseph Novak, Lake Preston, S.D.; and the Rev. Louis Kvetinsky of Omaha.
Funeral services will be held in the Huss Memorial Presbyterian church at 1 p.m. Sunday conducted by the Rev. Joseph Bren. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery. Friends may call at the Barta chapel from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
