CLAYTON-Services for Derrick Jerome Burton, 43, of Shreveport, La., who died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016, in Shreveport, will be 11a.m. Saturday at St. Mark Baptist Church in Clayton with the Rev. Larry Black officiating.

Burial will follow at the Vidalia City Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 5:45p.m. today at the funeral home with a celebration of life wake service at 6p.m.

Visitation will continue Saturday from 10a.m. until service time at the church.

Mr. Burton was born Sept. 1, 1972, in Natchez, the son of Charles Williams and Martha Burton.

He was 1992 graduate of Vidalia High School. He also attended Texas Southern University in Houston.

Derrick was employed at Music Mountain in Shreveport. He was a member of Faith Baptist Fellowship Church. He enjoyed grilling and watching his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys.

Mr. Burton was preceded in death by his father; one brother, Archie Williams; five aunts, Gloria Hardin, Ora Payne, Thelma Singleton, Alberta Davis and Pearl Randall; and two uncles, Bill Dailey and Ernest King.
