John Zebedee Black, 67, of Dalbo township, died suddenly at the Memorial hospital in Milaca on last Friday afternoon at 4 o’clock. His death was reported to have been due to a coronary thrombosis.
Mr. Black, it was be recalled, was injured in an automobile accident in Princeton township on March 18 at the intersection of two township roads near the Schlesner schoolhouse. His car was struck by a car driven by Kurt Lueck. A week ago the physicians stated that Mr. Black’s condition was favorable and his death came as quite a shock to the members of his family.
John Black was born at Big Lake on September 2, 1874. When he was a young man with his parents he moved to Dalbo township, where they had a farm. Later he bought a farm there. In 1914 Mr. Black was married to Augusta Hughes, of Minneapolis. There was one son, Donald, who now resides in Minneapolis. Mrs. Black died in 1939.
Besides his son, Donald, Mr. Black is survived by three brothers, Robert, of Jump River, Wis., Grover, of Isle, and Albert, of Princeton. He also leaves a number of relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted at the Gospel Tabernacle in this village at 2 o’clock on Tuesday by Reverend Alex Karmarkovic. Mrs. Ben Hartman and Mrs. Karmarkovic sang “Beyond the Sunset,” “Good Night Here, Good Morning There,” and “God Will Take Care of You.” Burial was in Oak Knoll cemetery.
Among the relatives and friends from out of town who were in attendance at the funeral services were Donald Black, of Minneapolis, Grover Black, of Isle, Mrs. Edith O’Briend, Mrs. Emma Eastlund, Leo English, and Mrs. Ruby Husack, all of Minneapolis.
