John Bertrand Scoggins Jr. of Canton, Georgia, known to family as “Papa John” and by friends as “John” or “Bert,” passed away on January 28, 2018, at age 84 of complications from Alzheimer’s Disease. He joins his loving wife, Loretta and his beautiful daughter, Deanne, in eternal life. The day this man was born and died, are not nearly as relevant as all the days and nights in between, which he lived to the fullest.

John will be lovingly remembered by his family and many friends as a lively “Rock n’ Roll” spirit who never passed up a good time, a caring father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, as well as a very successful businessman.

He will be sorely missed by his four surviving children, Michael, Matthew, Clay and Chris. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.

A Graveside Service in memory of John will be held on Saturday, February 3rd, 2018 at 2 p.m. EST, at Arlington Memorial Park, 201 Mt Vernon Hwy NW, Sandy Springs, Georgia, with military honors. His son, Matthew Scoggins, will officiate. Interment next to his mother in the family plot will follow.
