Lois Loretta (Finger) Meyer was born at home on a farm in Wall Lake on January 6, 1929, to Fred and Rose (Greve) Finger. She grew up on that farm in Wall Lake where she attended country school and graduated from Odebolt High School in 1946. She was baptized and confirmed at Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake. After graduation Lois pursued a career as a stenographer and bookkeeper.

On February 27, 1949, Lois married Dick Meyer at Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake. The union between Dick and Lois was blessed with three children: Craig, Dawn and Scott. They farmed for 21 years in Sac County. Over the years Lois enjoyed teaching Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and Children’s Christmas programs. In 1969 they moved to town in Lake View. Lois resumed office work, retiring in 1991. Lois and Dick joined Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Lake View where she was active in the Ladies Aide and over time serving as secretary and president. After retirement she enjoyed decorating, floral arrangements, and selling Mary Kay cosmetics. Lois enjoyed cooking and trying new recipes for her family and friends, playing cards in multiple card clubs and collecting angels.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Craig Meyer (Becky King) of Auburn, IA, Dawn Meyer of Kansas City, MO, Scott (Sue) Meyer of Woodbury, MN; her grandchildren: Stacey (Shane) Butner, Jenny (Ryan) Brockman, Katie (Josh) Zimmerman, Corie (Rich) Collins, Kirsten (Joey) Benke, Alyssa Meyer; and her great grandchildren: Keagen Meyer and Paige Zimmerman, Chase and Evan Brockman, Cecilia and Abraham Collins, and Samantha and Breanna Butner. She is also survived by siblings: Donald (Virginia) Finger and LaVon Boysen; and many nieces and nephews.

She was recently preceded in death by her loving husband Dick. Also preceding her are her parents Fred and Rose Finger, and her daughter-in-law Jann (Obman) Meyer.
