Michelle Lynn (Maroney) Placencia, passed away unexpectedly on January 17, 2018, in Bakersfield, CA. after a brief illness. Beloved daughter of Wesley & Rose Maroney, Michelle was born in Ventura, CA on June 8, 1978. Michelle attended La Purisma Catholic School in Lompoc, CA, St. Luis de Montford Catholic School in Orcutt, CA, and graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1996.

Michelle was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. Michelle married her husband, Garey Placencia in 2008, and they happily shared their combined 4 children, and went on to have another child together.

Michelle was a dedicated RAMS fan, enjoyed soccer, and was passionate about making care packages to feed the homeless in her community. Michelle and Garey loved traveling. An avid coupon collector. Michelle was also quite talented with carpentry and was known to be the household "repairperson" when something broke. She and Garey have been remodeling their home and when asked what she wanted for Christmas, she requested a table saw so she could replace the baseboards and doorframes!

Michelle had a successful career in Real Estate for the past 14 years, working with Watson Realty in those early years, then with McKinzie Nielsen Real Estate since 2007. Michelle will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

Michelle is survived by her parents, Wesley & Rose Maroney, husband Garey, children Mariah Williams, Andrew Williams, Kathryn Maroney, Garey Placencia, step-son Dominic Placencia, grandson Levi Melendez, brother Michael Maroney (USAF RET), nephews Christopher and Michael Maroney, and many cherished friends.

Viewing will be on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 5:30 PM followed by a rosary at 7:30 PM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 12300 Reina Road, Bakersfield, CA 93312.
