"Vincent A. Marino, U.S. Housing Official

Vincent A. Marino, deputy regional administrator of the U.S. Department of Housing and urban Development (HUD), died yesterday at Thomas Jefferson University, at Jefferson Hospital. He was 44 and lived at 2938 S. Broad st., Philadelphia. A native of South Philadelphia, Mr. Marino was graduated from La Salle College and Villanova Law School. He joined HUD's predecessor, the Housing and Home Finance Agency, in 1958 as an attorney with the Community Facilities Administration. In 1962, he was named head of senior citizens housing programs and later became deputy regional director of the Community Facilities Administration. He was named assistant regional administrator for housing assistance in 1967. In 1971 he became assistant regional administrator for housing management, and in 1972 assistant regional administrator for housing production and mortgage credit. He became deputy regional administrator in Dec. 5, 1974. He was a member of the Federal Bar and the Philadelphia Bar Association. Among his name awards were a Presidential Management Award from President Nixon, the Arthur S. Flemming Award of the U.S. Jaycees for outstanding young men in the Federal Government, and the Person of the Year of the Pennsylvania Association of Housing and Redevelopment Authorities. Surviving are his wife, the former Florence Richards; his mother, two daughters, Virginia and Helen, and a sister. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 A.M. Monday at Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, 10th and Bigler sts., Philadelphia."
