Mr. Mark Alan Payne, age 60, of Adairsville, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2018.

He was born in Rome, Georgia, on October 11, 1957, son of the late Floyd Benjamin (Trapper) Payne and Dorothy (Dot) Silver Payne. He was a member of Adairsville Baptist Church. Mark enjoyed fishing, watching sports, and NASCAR. He loved being with his family, especially his grandbabies. Mark was a teller of tall tales and his stories will surely be missed. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, John Larry Payne.

Survivors include his sons and daughter-in-law, Corey and Amy Payne of Cartersville and Ryne Payne of Calhoun; grandchildren, Hunter Payne, Kylie Payne, and Karter Payne; brothers and sister-in-law, Billy and Betty Payne of Calhoun and Ronny Payne of Adairsville; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 14, 2018 at 4:00 PM in the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville, with Rev. Donnie Hudgens officiating. Interment will follow in the Eastview Cemetery. Pallbearers include Blake Payne, Freddy Fletcher, Frankie Fletcher, Jimmy Fletcher, Randy Myers, and Phil Ray. Honorary pallbearer will be Jimmy Ray.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home.

The family would like to sincerely thank Homespun Hospice for their wonderful care and all of Mark’s friends that came and spent time with him.
