Funeral services for Jon Taylor, age 58, of Wadley will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2018, at 2:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tim Whaley officiating. Burial will follow at Forresters Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday, January 31, 2018.

Mr. Taylor passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at his residence.

Survivors include his wife, Karen Taylor of Wadley; son, Connor Taylor of Wadley; his mother, Ellene Mitchell (husband, Don) of Wadley; one sister, Larraine Bailey (husband, Doug); and other survivors, Josh, Amy and Ava Ray of Nashville, TN.

Pallbearers will be Brad Bennett, Jimmy Bennett, Michael Caypless, David Fitzgerald, Chris Rombokas, and Tommy Windsor. Honorary pallbearers will be Daryl Harmon and David Harmon.

A lifelong Wadley resident, Mr. Taylor was born in Lafayette on October 12, 1959, the son of Douglas Jackson Taylor and Ellene Cato Mitchell. He was a member of Hope Memorial Christian Church and owner of Taylor Farms and a partner in Jon Boy’s Smokehouse. Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Jim Taylor.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
